People Over Plastic podcast season 2!

People Over Plastic, a fiscally sponsored project of OAEC, is a BIPOC storytelling collective working towards an anti-racist, plastic-free future. POP’s wildly successful Season 1 podcast brought us stories of heroes around the world who are fighting big plastic at every level of the supply chain. From closing a plastic manufacturing plant in the heart of Louisiana’s “Cancer Alley” to banning incineration in the Phillipines, People Over Plastic hands the mic to the most impacted and inspired voices in the global #BreakFreeFromPlastic movement.

Season 2 promises not to disappoint! Co-Founder, Shilpi Chhotray’s advocacy work has taken her to many communities around the world to witness the devastating impacts of plastic pollution first-hand. What she didn’t know was how corrupt the movement of waste actually is until she started investigating for this series. Think organized crime, black markets, shady contractors, and even death threats. Their crew had the privilege of spending time with some pretty courageous individuals who have an intimate knowledge and relationship with the world of waste, and in return, are sounding the alarm on the twisted status quo.
