The Bring Back the Beaver campaign, run by Brock Dolman and Kate Lundquist of the Occidental Arts & Ecology Center’s WATER Institute, was recently honored with the Paula Lane Action Network‘s 2014 Badger Spirit Award (see Press Democrat article). The award is for work that promotes resource conservation and respect for Nature through consistent sustainable practices.
Our colleagues at Worth a Dam, a Martinez-based organization that educates the public about the value of beaver in the conservation of natural resources, were also given the award. Both the WATER Institute and Worth a Dam work to change state policies about beaver that are founded on inaccurate data.
