WATER Institute Quoted in the LA Times

On March 26, 2024, The Los Angeles Times published a fantastic article titled, Yes, beavers can help stop wildfires. And more places in California are embracing them. In it, writer Alex Wigglesworth explores the value of returning beaver to California’s waterways, particularly to combat and recover from wildfire events.

The WATER Institute’s Kate Lundquist and Brock Dolman are thrilled to be quoted alongside other beaver believers, Dr. Emily Fairfax, CDFW Beaver Restoration Program Manager Valerie Cook, Karen Pope of the U.S. Forest Service, and Kenneth McDarment, Range Supervisor, Tule River Tribe and founder of the tribe’s beaver project.
