The Decentralized Water Policy Council (DWPC), a project of OAEC and the California Onsite Water Association, was one of three finalists in the Imagine H2O Policy Challenge. Finalists were selected from over 100 applications from leaders in academia, public policy, water agencies and the private sector.
The recommendations for effective policy change made by the Council’s greywater working group have been highlighted by Imagine H2O’s Policy Challenge as approaches that will accelerate the deployment of new and existing water technologies. On February 9th, Council Members Laura Allen of Greywater Action, Regina Hirsch of Sierra Watershed Progressive, Nick Weigel of NorthStar Engineering and OAEC’s Miriam Volat will participate in focused roundtable sessions with key water experts on appropriate paths towards implementation of water policy that will be most beneficial to the next generation of water innovators, entrepreneurs and regulators.
With the inspiration of the rain, we continue to work toward key changes that will allow us to live within our ecological limits as a society. Thank you to the nearly 50 volunteer members of the DWPC!
