Last month, OAEC was proud to support our fiscally sponsored project, Fenceline Watch, by applying and successfully receiving accreditation under the UN Environment Programme (UNEP)! Fenceline Watch is an environmental justice group fighting toxic pollution in Texas.
In 2022, Fenceline Watch participated in the first session of the Intergovernmental Negotiating Committee (INC-1) on Plastic Pollution as part of #BreakFreeFromPlastic’s Environmental Justice Delegation from the U.S.
Now with OAEC as a UNEP-accredited organization, Fencline Watch will be able to continue participating in the ongoing global treaty process on plastic pollution through INC-2. We applaud Fencline Watch for their important leadership and global advocacy on behalf of communities adversely affected by the petrochemical industry!
