From “drought to deluge,” we are facing the drastic swings of the climate crisis – and grappling with how to respond. At OAEC, we hold an active and hopeful vision of restoration. If the conditions of our watersheds reflect degenerative land management practices, then enacting regenerative solutions will seed health and resilience.
This short film features OAEC’s 70-acre Wildlands Preserve, on Coast Miwok and Southern Pomo territory, one of many places where our Resilient Community Design principles come to life. It is an ode to the staggering biodiversity and life processes of the OAEC site where we seek restorative relationship, composing with with rather than imposing upon.
We’re excited to share a small taste of OAEC’s vision for participatory, holistic eco-restoration!
This film was produced in part for a collaborative project spearheaded by John Liu, filmmaker and founder of Ecosystem Restoration Camps, on behalf of the UN’s Decade on Ecosystem Restoration (2021-2030). OAEC was proud to be highlighted as one of many inspiring examples from around the world with footage featured in Ecoflix’s The Flourishing Path with Dr. Jane Goodall.
