Summary
After many months of research, the WATER Institute has released its report re-evaluating the historic range of beaver where coho salmon occur. The WATER Institute collaborated with NOAA Fisheries, Sonoma State University and the Institute for Historic Ecology to produce a robust report on the multiple forms of evidence found. It also includes many maps, figures tables and several appendices that go into detail about the benefits of beaver, other efforts in the west to incorporate beaver into restoration as well as the history of beaver planting in CA.
This report was made possible by the generous support of The Nature Conservancy, The Patagonia Foundation and the 11th Hour Foundation.
