Central California Environmental Justice Network

Central California Environmental Justice Network (CCEJN)’s works to address the negative environmental challenges faced by low-income farm worker communities in the Central Valley, such as pesticide impacts on human and environmental health. CCEJN is working to secure farmland for farm workers to increase availability of healthy food, offset food costs, and provide community gathering spaces.

For this project, OAEC worked closely with CCEJN to facilitate a community design of a plot of farmland that serves the needs of local farmworkers and their families. OAEC led an ecological design course, conducted in Spanish, which covered key topics such as ecological design, soil health, and sustainable farming practices.

OAEC continues to support CCEJN in its work to secure and regeneratively steward land while fighting for environmental justice in the Central Valley.
