
The WATER Institute has been funded by the California Department of Fish & Wildlife to create the first-ever statewide Beaver Coexistence Training and Support Program to facilitate beaver coexistence education and implementation across the state. It is designed to provide workforce development training for installers, accessible coexistence information, and technical and financial assistance to landowners to facilitate the best possible outcome for beavers and humans alike.

Seek AssistanceLaunched in 2025, the program will produce the following:
- Technical Support (California Beaver Help Desk)
- Financial Support (Cost-Share Program)
- Beaver Coexistence Contractor Training (BeaverCorps)
- Statewide Beaver Conflict Assessment Report
- Education and Outreach
- Beaver Conflict Response Plan
The program provides:
