In Their Own Words

My work at OAEC:

I work as an assistant to the kitchen manager. I act as lead cook and co-manage our kitchen staff.

My background:

I studied Women’s and Gender Studies Psychology at SSU and continued on to study Yoga. I inherited my families’ love and appreciation for beautiful and nourishing food and was taught to cook by my father.

What gives me hope:

My son

My favorite resiliency resource:

The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali

Why my work matters:

My work matters because, as a team, we provide nourishing and beautiful food to people who are doing the hard work that impacts the world in positive and profound ways.

My passions:

I have a passion for curiosity and helping others. I enjoy getting to know the people and the world that surrounds me. I love creating and sharing art, especially with my son. I am also passionate about taking care of my body by exercising and challenging myself to meet new goals and set a good example for my son.

When my life is over, I want to be remembered for:

My sense of humor and empathy for others

The wildest place I’ve ever been:

My own mind
