WATER Institute contributes to Canadian report on Beaver Restoration Across Boundaries

WATER Institute Director Kate Lundquist was one of seven American beaver advocates interviewed for this report put together by the Miistakis Institute in Alberta, Canada. The report shares the experiences and lessons learned regarding the use of beaver for restoration and climate change adaptation in a selection of American states.

This information is relevant to land owners and land managers within the Crown of the Continent and beyond who are interested in restoring riparian areas and wetlands and/or to use a “no regrets” strategy such as beaver relocation to adapt to climate change. More specifically, this information will help guide the next stage of efforts in Alberta to realize the use of beavers for watershed stewardship and climate change adaptation.
