****************************************************************************

KOWS 107.3 is a community radio station serving the “Kindom of Occidental and West Sonoma.” KOWS began broadcasting in May 2007 with an eclectic blend of recorded and in-studio live music, discussion and public affairs shows — all produced by local volunteers.

The station is licensed under the FCC's "low-power" FM service. While the "effective radiated power" is 100 watts, the power at the transmitter is only 3 watts. The signal can be heard quite well in Occidental, Freestone, Camp Meeker, and Graton. Due to the local geography, coverage in Sebastopol, Forestville, Fulton, and Santa Rosa is dependent on your exact position and whether you have a line-of-sight to the transmitter. The station is researching ways of expanding and strengthening our signal, which is subject to FCC regulations.

KOWS is currently seeking volunteer programmers and other volunteers who wish to be active with the station. To inquire about becoming a volunteer programmer, or other volunteer opportunities, to become a member or business/organizational underwriter, to make a donation or for any other questions, please contact Philip Tymon at (707) 874-1557 x 203 or phil@oaec.org . KOWS mailing address is: PO Box 1073, Occidental, CA 95465. The phone number at KOWS studio is (707) 874-1073.

Significant start-up funding for KOWS was provided by Monrovia Nursery.                   KOWS, simply, would not exist without the love of our Charter Business Underwriters. Please do, do, do support them:                                                                     Andy's Market                                                                                              Bistro des Copains                                                                                          The Bohemian                                                                                              Front Street Coffee                                                                                      Further Design                                                                                                  G-Wiz Printing                                                                                                                 Howard's Cafe                                                                                              Looks Good On Paper                                                                                Occidental Arts and Ecology Center                                                            Occidental Community Council                                                                         Sign Dynamics                                                                                       Solarworks                                                                                                   YMCA of Occidental                                                                                   WACCOBB.Net                                                                                               West County Herb Company
