Painting out of doors is a profound experience. Out of the studio we are faced with the dynamic forces of nature which challenge us to develop visual sensitivity, flexibility, and resilience. By painting out in the living landscape we come into a deeper relationship with the wind and sunshine, the moving shadows, the glimmering ocean, and ourselves. This course will give participants an opportunity to paint in spectacular outdoor locations alongside the instructor. In additon to methods for painting in the open air, this weekend will include presentation on basic oil technique, color theory, and composition. Painter and instructor Adam Wolpert will also offer a slide lecture discussing visual theory and landscape painting issues. All levels are welcome. Participants must supply their own materials, a list of which will be provided to participants in advance of the course.
